The Stage berichtet am 30.8.2022, dass das Edinburg Fringe Festival 27% weniger Besucher hatte als in 2019:

Die Producerin ist trotzdem positiv gestimmt:

Producer Francesca Moody described the figures as „encouraging“ given this is the first full return of the festival. 

She said: „Given we are still recovering from a pandemic and we are entering a cost-of-living crisis, the fact that many people were able to come to Edinburgh and spend their money on shows is brilliant, and it goes to show that there is still a place for the festival and people still need it and want it. 

„It’s going to be a long road to recovery and we all knew the festival wasn’t going to be exactly the same as it was in 2019, but I think that’s pretty bloody amazing considering everything.“
